I fell in love with photography at summer camp in Wisconsin as a kid. They offered a photography class where we could walk around camp with an old black and white film camera (well maybe they weren’t that old at the time) and then develop our own photos in a dark room! But it wasn’t until much later in my life that I picked it back up again. I bought myself a Canon Rebel in 2012 and immediately fell back in love with the art of capturing still images.

Landscapes have always been my passion, but I dabbled in portraits and weddings to help justify expensive camera gear purchases. When we relocated to Colorado in 2017, I gave up the portraits and weddings and just concentrated on landscapes. It was our love of the outdoors that brought us to Colorado and now I am trying to fuse photography and outdoor adventures as much as I can.

My goal is to create images that capture the feeling of a moment in space and time - particularly of scenes in the natural world. One of my favorite things to do is to get up early while camping - before the rest of my family - and sit and enjoy the sunrise while capturing a few images if I feel so compelled. I hope my images can help share the feeling of some of these moments with you!

I currently shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and a rotating kit of various lenses and accessories (some of which occasionally get sold for things like backcountry ski gear).
